We're off!  About to go fact that class of monsters again. Wish me luck. ::dons riot gear:: There are lots of classes I don't particularly *like*... this is the only one I DREAD. And I get to teach them tomorrow, too. Sigh. Current mood:  stressed.

Who is the other mystery tango person who's post I just discovered last night? You posted from June 9, so I didn't look back that far till yesterday. WHO ARE YOU??? Are you Ellie? AND... I've actually purchased postcards. We'll see if they get written, then if they get stamps, then if they get to the mailbox... lots of "ifs"... this might take a while. But the first step has been taken. And actually, a few have been written already b/c I know I'll have to send them. So, if you want a postcard, or if I promised you one long ago (Kristen), send me a current address. Just as everyone I seem to know starts looking in on me, of course I feel the need to post something long and dark and rather personal. So I'm putting that private, for now, and please don't let it scare you off! otoh, if you have anything to add to my musings, or want to share your experiences, my email is jtate@hotmail.com, and please write something in the subject line letting me know you're not spam. No fair not telling me who you are!!! (someone left me a note in the last entry) But I'm gonna guess... Ryan. I'm probably wrong, but that's my guess and I'm sticking to it untill told otherwise. Anyway, thanks for the update on everyone's doings. I miss the group a lot! Everyone will be gone and scattered by the time I get back... sad. Update on Matt's tango (the one mystery disappearance I know about) - He is curently on the east coast for some family fun time (his mom's graduation!) and might be back to tango at some point though he may also continue slacking on it. Dunno about anyone else. Is Nick Jones still headed to Taiwan this summer? That was the plan last I knew. Its just a short plane ride from here... Tell him to get in touch, I sent him my info ages ago but haven't heard anything back. (unless, of course, this is Nick instead of Ryan...) In other news... Life continues here. Not really much excitement. Went to Seoul to this huge bookstore with a good foreign section saturday. Books! Yay! Planning a trip out to the country, to a town called Andong, in a few weeks. Its supposed to be really pretty and rural and old-fashioned. Want to go see Rent with Kevin and Donna, but don't get off work early enough to make it. So trying to get tickets to the Count Basie Orchestra instead. I've already seen Rent anyway, in San Francisco. Damn workin for a living, always gets in the way. Funny, it hit me recently that I haven't actually been in the country for the Fourth of July in 3 years. I barely noticed till Hannah and Bernie were talking about having a BBQ and mentioned that it could be the excuse for a party. I didn't even know it was coming up, really. Ok... off to lesson planning for me- no more slacking! Sorry I've been such a slacker posting. Life has settled into a fairly boring-to-tell-about pattern, so there's really not much to say. I've started jogging most mornings, with Kevin. He's startig training for the Chicago marathon, so he has to do it, and I tag along because its good for me. If I stretch enough and wear good shoes it doesn't bother my knees. Besides, we don't go far or fast. Work is ok. The kids are killing me, but its something to do with my time. Actually, gotta go teach now. Kevin did lose that job, so he's staying with me. Its nice to have the company, he's good to have around. Making fish tacos this weekend! YUM! Can't believe its June already! Never mind May- where did April go??? Very low-key weekend. Meant to actually *go* to the Rockssin friday night. Layed down "for a second," and woke up I think around 2, with my contacts in, light on, etc. So much for that. Must have needed the sleep. Shopping in Itaewon Saturday. Purchase of the day- rainbow-stripe socks with toes in them!!!! (pics coming...) Strange to see all the westerners in the area. Like "wait a minute- where did YOU come from???" Kind of embarassing to see the GIs, usually loud and drunk and shouting to their friends. Fortunately we don't have them down in Anyang. Fun jazz bar saturday night, good music. Damn subway closing- wanted to stay later! Current mood:  rested.
Much to my amazement, Bernie actually came up to me at work today and asked what I was doing tonight and if I wanted to go to the Rockssin. (spelling of that bar always problematic- sign outside says Rockssin, but the napkins inside say Roxxin. Hmm.) Very odd. Hannah asked what I was doing too. But I would've expected her to be a *little* more neutral and easygoing anyway. I was actually planning to make an appearance with Kevin anyway, so I was able to say as much to them. I'm a bit confused at why they asked, esp Bernie since she hates me. I've certainly stuck to short words and simple sentences on very limited occasions for her. I know I'd pretty much written off hanging out with them. Current mood:  confused.
